In the old days, this neighborhood of the Sant Martí district was a farming area that stretched from Riera de Horta to the Besòs River. During the sixties, farming slowly disappeared and was replaced by a neighborhood of tall housing projects, developed by the Labor-Union Housing Project. Franco inaugurated it in 1966, coinciding with the commemorative ceremonies of first 25 years of peace.
