A bullring for everything
This is the name of the imposing bullring located next to the stop and inaugurated in 1914 under the name of El Esport. It was originally designed by Ignasi Mas i Morell and in 1916 Pere Milà the Camps modified it by expanding the capacity to 20,000 spectators, so it was renamed under the name Monumental for the greatness it had taken. After 97 years of activity, the square stops to be used in 2011, the year when the Parliament approved a law for the abolition of bullfights in Catalonia.
