A building with lots of history
The historic building of the University of Barcelona was designed in 1863 by the architect Elies Rogent, who years later would become director general of the Universal Exhibition of 1888. It is a good example of Neomedieval architecture of the mid nineteenth century, which combines various architectonic styles.
