Casa de l’Aigua

The water distributor

Casa de l’Aigua (Water House) was built to pump water to certain districts of Barcelona at the beginning of the twentieth century. If you ask in advance, it is still possible to see the old machinery that was kept in place. The Casa de l’aigua district has been renovated, so new buildings now stand among inferior blocks of houses built some years ago. However, from this area you can enjoy the amazing views of the mountains and the Besòs river.

Places of Interest
Beyond Casa del Aigua and the fantastic gardens and urban orchards, you will find other interesting places in the Trinitat district where to have a walk, like the big park in the lap of Collserola chain with the wonderful views to the city. In these northern district, it is still possible to meet someone who goes to the public fountain to fill up his large glass water container… or children that with the summer hot temperatures enjoy following the municipal sprinklers to have a dip. This is a daily nature that reminds to the old village rather than the present city of Barcelona.
