A real estate of the 16th century
Can Zam is the name of a real estate of the 16th century, located in the northern area of Santa Coloma de Gramenet and preserved as a property of Local Cultural Interest. It sites among the park Europa, the park of Can Zam and the district of Singuerlín. Since it was built, it took different names, most of them from its owners’names: Mas Teixidor, Mas Calbó, Mas Planella… until the 19th century. Bartomeu Tusquets was the caretaker who gave the name to this property and he was popularly known as “en Zam”, a worker with experience who made the lands prosperous, since it had already been the caretaker of another well-known farmhouse, Can Peixauet.
