There are many theories about the name of the district of Hospitalet: Bellvitge. According to one of these, the name could come from the expression bell viatge (have a good travel), used by the travellers when they passed here and they invoked the Virgin of a close hermitage, as she could grant them a good travel or to avoid the river Llobregat bursted its bank.
