A finales del siglo XIX, vivió en esta zona un hombre conocido como el padre Palau. Se trataba de Francesc Palau i Quer, un fraile que profesaba la caridad entre los enfermos y marginados, y que fundó la congregación de las carmelitas terciarias descalzas. Este padre, que tenía un especial interés por el exorcismo, convocaba a los fieles penitentes en el convento de Santa Creu de Vallcarca, o convento de los Penitents, donde devotos y enfermos acudían en busca de ayuda espiritual.

A man known as Father Palau lived in this area towards the end of the 19th century. He was Francesc Palau i Quer, a friar who professed charity among the sick and the deprived people, and who went on to establish the Discalced Carmelites order. This father, who showed a special interest in exorcism, assembled the faithful penitents at the Convent of Santa Creu de Vallarca, or The Penitents Convent, where worshippers and sick people came in search of spiritual succour.

Es tractava de Francesc Palau i Quer, un frare que professava la caritat entre els malalts i marginats, i que va fundar la congregació de les carmelites terciàries descalces. Aquest pare, que tenia un especial interès per l’exorcisme, convocava als fidels penitents en el convent de Santa Creu de Vallcarca, o convent dels Penitents, on devots i malalts acudien a la recerca d’ajuda espiritual.
